Halloween in Stowmarket – some fantastic feedback

I was reading the East Anglian and I came across a letter from a reader:

Sir, Halloween brought many trick or treaters to my door. I was most impressed at how polite and cheerful the children were, wishing me a happy Halloween and thanking me for the small treat of sweets. Most had made a real effort at dressing for the occasion too – and they seemed pleased to have the door answered by a witch with an over familiar basset hound who thought the sweets should be coming her way! My thanks to parents, local schools and a police campaign for making this a night of fun rather than a begging fest to be endured.

Read this! A great little BBC article on the cuts to youth services. In light of the London riots and the high youth unemployment rates is cutting the youth service a good idea, could it be classed as neglect (as stated in the article) ?

We love to see the entrepreneurs on Dragons Den – especially local people. I wonder if he has any apprenticeships?!

Andy Bates of AB Engineering Ltd is pictured in Buxhall. He appeared on the Dragons Den TV showand raised £50,000 for his business.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR 100 YOUNG PEOPLE 14-18 TO BE IN AN INCREDIBLE YOUNG PEOPLES ‘CONVERGENCE’ SCENE AT FELIXSTOWE ON THE 17TH SEPTEMBER, AS PART OF A HUGE CULTURAL OLYMPIAD FILM PROJECT called ON LANDGUARD POINT.

WE ARE WORKING WITH A PROFESSIONAL FILM COMPANY, AMAZING INTERNATIONAL ARTIST AND A REALLY LOVELY FRIENDLY TEAM OF PEOPLE FROM THE PACITTI COMPANY WHO ARE PRODUCING THIS WHOLE PROJECT.

FIRST OFF, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO DO A REGIMENTED AND PRETTY ORDERED PARADE DOWN THE SEA FRONT ( NEAR THE FORT END OF THE FRONT)

THEN

YOU WILL DO A CRAZY WILD RUN UP THE BEACH OVER THE DUNES TOWARDS THE FORT, THEN THE GROUP WILL SPLIT AND YOU WILL ALL HAVE A HUGE FLOWER FIGHT!! WE NEED 100 SO – I AM THINKING OF GROUPS COMING TOGETHER TO MAKE THE NUMBERS. WE CAN ORGANISE TRANSPORT AND WE WILL GIVE EVERYONE GRUB WHEN THEY ARE THERE.
